Dr. Robbins-Winters’ academic journey began at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, followed by her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry, where she graduated with honors in 1991. During her studies, she was co-president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity, an active Indiana University Optometric Student Association member, and a contact lens teaching assistant. She received multiple awards for her academic excellence, including the Fisons Corporation Award for Clinical Excellence. She completed a postgraduate residency in Ocular Disease and Geriatric Care at the Portland, Oregon VA Outpatient Hospital, receiving additional certifications from Pacific University and Pennsylvania School of Optometry. In 2007, she furthered her expertise by completing the Chief Executive Optometric Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Robbins-Winters is Board Certified in Medical Optometry and stays updated through continuous professional education.
Her professional achievements include a prestigious appointment by Indiana Governor Kernan in 2003 to the Indiana Optometry Board, advising on professional licensing standards and eye care legislation.
